Fund appoints Mr Francis B. Narayan as its advisor

The Fiji National Provident Fund Board has appointed Mr Francis Bipin Narayan as the Fund’s advisor. A statement from the Fund says Mr Narayan’s appointment follows recommendation from the Reserve Bank of Fiji’s on-site report in which it highlighted the need for the Fund to supplement the technical expertise of its Board.

The RBF is the regulator of the FNPF; appointed under Section 172 of the Insurance Act.

Mr Narayan’s appointment is for 12 months.

“FNPF is honoured to have someone of Mr Narayan’s skills and expertise as the Fund moves towards repositioning itself in the short to medium term with spefici emphasis in the areas of financial management, audit, governance, investment and risks,” the statement said.

Mr Narayan is a chartered accountant and has 34 years of national, regional and international experience in accounting, public and private sector financial management, project development and financing, portfolio management and governance.

This includes a 17-year senior level professional service to the Asian Development Bank based in Manila, which saw him working in different countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Pacific.

Mr Narayan, who is also the Chairman of the Fiji Islands Trade and Investments Bureau, is a former President of the Fiji Institute of Accountants.
