The Fiji National Provident Fund has urged its members and pensioners to attend the Annual Member Forum in Suva and Rakiraki this week.
The Fund’s Chief Operating Officer Jaoji Koroi said the forum provides FNPF’s key stakeholders an opportunity to be updated on the Fund’s operations and future plans and also allows them to ask questions or highlight issues or concerns.
About 250 members and pensioners attended the Labasa Forum last Saturday, and raised questions pertaining to pension amount and payments, non-distribution of payslips to members, non-payment of FNPF contributions, extension of partial withdrawal assistance to include other family members, amongst others.
“Labasa was our first stop for the annual member forums and we were happy with the good turnout.”
“This is an important engagement session for the Fund because we don’t just enlighten our stakeholders on our performance and plans but we also give them an opportunity to ask questions or raise their concerns directly with the Executive Management team that make up the panel.”
Members and pensioners who faced issues pertaining to their accounts were happy that they were able to have these addressed.
Pensioners were also able to pick up their new pension cards which replaces the current laminated version.
“While we are aware that not all the feedback would be positive, we were happy that we gave our stakeholders an opportunity to talk to us directly and have their issues or concerns addressed,” said Mr. Koroi.
“Our members and pensioners certainly don’t hold back when it comes to asking questions and we appreciate it because it allows us to provide clarifications, respond to their concerns or address genuine grievances.”
“We hope the turnout in Labasa will be mirrored across the remaining four centres where the member forums will be held this week and next week.”
The Member Forum will be held in Suva on Thursday 16th November at 5pm at the FNPF Member Services Centre, Downtown Boulevard.
The remaining forums will be held on the following dates and venues: ·
- 18th November: George Shiu Raj Hall at 10am ·
- 23rd November: Nadi Civic Centre at 5pm ·
- 24th November: FNPF Lautoka Office at 5pm.
