The Fiji National Provident Fund is requesting its members to refrain from crowding its offices and adhere to precautionary measures on COVID-19 that have been announced by the Ministry of Health.
This is in response to large gatherings of members at FNPF offices today to enquire about special COVID-19 withdrawal assistance.
“The Fund has not activated any special withdrawal assistance at the moment as it is still liaising with relevant stakeholders,” says FNPF Chief Executive Officer, Jaoji Koroi.
“By congregating at our offices, members are not only breaching the public advisories but are putting themselves and our staff at risk. This is of great concern to us and we will be liaising closely with the relevant authorities to manage this public risk,” said Mr. Koroi.
As a superannuation and social security institution, as well as an investor, the Fund is aware of the impact that COVID-19 has had on businesses and the ripple effect, which has reached thousands of members.
At this stage the normal unemployment assistance is available to all members. For those members that have been terminated or permanently laid off, they can access our Unemployment assistance as per our normal withdrawal guidelines.
The Fund advises that once details have been firmed up regarding the special assistance, then the necessary public announcements will be done.
In line with efforts to minimize physical contact at all its customer service centres, the Fund will provide limited services at all its offices effective tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March 2020.
FNPF will only be providing services for the following:
• Medical
• Funeral
• Unemployment
• Cashier services (for Employers and Members)
Members can apply directly on the FNPF website for one of these three (3) withdrawal assistance by going to https:// myfnpf.com.fj/withdrawal-online-form
Likewise, employers are requested to conduct their business through the Employers Portal, call 3238 999 or email EmployerHelpline@fnpf.com.fj , EmployerComplaints@fnpf.com.fj and/or to log in to our employer portal for any employer related queries.
FNPF will continue to update our members through the media and social media. Members and the public alike are requested to refrain from spreading false information or react to hearsay and to verify information by calling 3307811 or email Information@fnpf.com.fj
