FNPF scales down services

The Fiji National Provident Fund will have limited services at all its offices around the country from tomorrow Friday 23 April 2021.

“As part of the Fund’s response to the imminent threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on movement within the Fund’s premises was implemented yesterday and will be in place until the national health restrictions pertaining to the pandemic are lifted,” said Acting Chief Executive Officer Viliame Vodonaivalu.

“The only services that will be available at FNPF offices are for funeral and medical withdrawals, as well as cashier services. We encourage members and employers to conduct their business online through our digital platforms.”

“We are also waiving the pension renewal certificates that are due this month (April) and May. Our pensioners belong to an age group that are highly vulnerable to the coronavirus, therefore, they will not need to visit our offices to renew their pension certificates because we will process their pensions as scheduled.”

While all Fund offices will remain open, the Valelevu Agency will close from tomorrow.

Members are requested to adhere to the health protocols by wearing face masks and comply with temperature checks when visiting FNPF offices. If temperatures recorded exceed 38 degrees, members will not be allowed into the Fund premises, but will instead be referred for medical assistance.

“We plead with our members, employers and pensioners to follow the health advisories for their safety and the safety of others as well,” said Mr. Vodonaivalu.
