FNPF members can now submit funeral assistance applications on the myFNPF App – as part of continued enhancements to the Fund’s digital platforms. Members can also submit the Advice of Death (AOD) online.
The Natural Disaster Withdrawal is also available on the myFNPF App but will only be activated when required.
Previously, the myFNPF App could receive Education, Unemployment, Microbusiness and Low Balance withdrawal applications – an enhancement that was necessary, given physical distancing restrictions for COVID-19.
Chief Executive Officer Viliame Vodonaivalu said the Fund continues to explore avenues to shift its services to its digital platforms for ease of access for its members.
“The funeral assistance withdrawals is a benefit accessed by many members. In the 2021 financial year, the Fund paid out close to $6 million to members under this withdrawal ground.”
“The enabling of the funeral withdrawal and submission of the AOD (Advice of Death) on the myFNPF App is a convenient option for our members. We aim to keep our processing time to a minimum, taking into account that members are in a difficult period as they come to terms with the loss of a loved one.”
“The Fund will keep looking at innovative solutions that will help members access their savings under the approved withdrawal grounds. We now have six withdrawal grounds available on the myFNPF App and we’re in the process of shifting more to this mobile platform,” said Mr. Vodonaivalu.
As with other withdrawal processes, the provision of required documents is important to allow for quick application processing. Members must ensure they have these documents prior to submitting applications on the myFNPF App.
Funeral assistance withdrawal applications received before 12:30pm daily (Monday – Friday) will be processed on the same day, however, applications received after the daily deadline, will be processed the next day.
The myFNPF App can be downloaded from Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Tutorial videos to guide members through the submission process on the myFNPF App, are also available on the FNPF website and social media pages.
Members need to be registered on the app to use it. A default or one-time password will be sent to members after following the registration process.
Once logged in, the default password must be changed.
Members are encouraged to contact the FNPF team if they experience access issues.
