Ensure that you have registered for the myFNPF app

Formal sector employees who qualify for the Government Unemployment Assistance and reside outside Viti Levu need to register on the myFNPF app to access the assistance, if not already registered.

Before you register on the myFNPF app, you need to ensure that your TIN number, email address, and mobile number are updated in the FNPF records.

Applications for Second Round of Government Funded Unemployment Assistance for outside Viti Levu Individuals


Formal sector employees residing outside of Viti Levu and are affected by the pandemic will need to apply on the myFNPF app for the second round of Government-funded Unemployment benefit from 13 October 2021 to 31 October 2021.


The key criteria to be eligible for the assistance is the need to have two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.


This assistance is also for individuals who are in the formal sector or those that were previously assisted for the FNPF Phase 2 and are still unemployed or Phase 3 (reduced hours/wage rate) and are now unemployed.



Criteria for application

Affected individuals will need to meet the following criteria to be able to apply for this assistance:


  1. 18 years and above
  2. is currently unemployed;
  3. resides outside of Viti Levu
  4. have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
  5. Double dipping is not allowed. Individuals assisted under any of the FNPF COVID-19 unemployment assistance are not eligible for the Government assistance and likewise individuals assisted by Government are not eligible for FNPF COVID-19 unemployment assistance.


The following are not allowed to apply:


  1. All civil servants
  2. All other employees in the private sector and statutory bodies who are still receiving employment income
  3. All those on FNPF pension scheme
  4. FNPF Voluntary members
  5. All students on Tertiary Education Loan Scheme and Toppers scholarship receiving normal allowances and
  6. All social welfare recipients



How to Apply

Application process

Individuals will need to provide the following details when applying on the myFNPF app:

    1. Full name;
    2. Birth Registration Number;
    3. Date of Birth;
    4. TIN number;
    5. FNPF number;
    6. Voter Identification Number;
    7. Residential address
    8. Declaration to confirm if the applicant has received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (YES or NO);
      • If YES, provide the place of vaccination;
    9. Date of First and Second Jab
    10. Vaccination Registration Number (10 digit number)
    11. Place of Vaccination
    12. Consent for Fijian Government to access applicants vaccination details
      • (YES or NO);
    13. Statutory declaration to confirm that all information provided is correct.


It is important that individuals applying for this assistance gather all of the required information before applying on the myFNPF app.  Incomplete, late or submissions containing incorrect information will not be considered.


Payment by the Fijian Government

The second payment of $360 will be made in November 2021.

Funds will be deposited directly into MPAiSA or MyCASH accounts for eligible recipients.


Important notes

The Ministry of Economy will work in partnership with Vodafone, Digicel, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, Fiji National Provident Fund and Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board to verify and process the applications.

Individuals who have applied for the FNPF COVID-19 Unemployment Relief cannot apply for the Government Unemployment benefit and vice versa.
