The Fiji National Provident Fund in partnership with the Fijian Government rolled out the following relief packages to assist its members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Phase 1 Withdrawal – Closed on 29 May 2020
Members who worked in the tourism / tourism related businesses or those who were affected by physical distancing / travel restrictions could withdrawal funds from their General Account. Government Top up was applicable to those members who had insufficient funds in their GA.

Sole proprietors (taxi drivers, mini van/ hire vehicle drivers) and small enterprise owners who were affected by the pandemic could apply for $1,000 from their GA. Government Top up was not applicable.

 

Phase 2 Withdrawal – Closed on 25 June 2021

Members who were Unemployed from 1 October 2019 or those who lost job due to the pandemic or were on leave without pay could apply for $220 fortnightly payment. Members who had insufficient funds in their General Account received Government Top Up.

 

Phase 3 Withdrawal – Closed on 22 June 2021

Members who were on reduced hours and reduced wage rate could apply for this withdrawal. Members on reduced hours received $22 for every day they were not working (Fortnightly payments) whereas members on reduced wage rate received a lump sum payment depending on the reduction of their wage rate. Members who had insufficient funds in their General Account received Government Top Up.

 

Lockdown Relief – Closed on 25 June 2021

Members who could not reach their workplace because of the lockdown zones, who worked for high risk and non-essential businesses which had closed for the lockdown period or whose wages had been affected (wages reduced or no pay) could apply for $220 lockdown relief payment. Members who had insufficient funds in their General Account received Government Top Up.

 

Phase 4 Withdrawal - Closed on 30 June 2021

Members who were unemployed from 1 January 2010 to 30 September 2019 could apply for a certain amount from their General Account.

Phase 4 Round 2 and Round 3 also included drivers for taxis/minibuses and hire vehicles; and owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Government top up was NOT applicable.

 

Voluntary Members Relief – Closed on 30 June 2021

Voluntary Members who were affected by the pandemic could apply for COVID-19 Voluntary Member Withdrawal. Members could withdraw between $100 to $1,100 depending on their General Account balance. The Voluntary Members Relief started on 26 April 2021 and it closes on 30 June 2021. Government top up was NOT applicable.
