 Who can be assisted?

1. Member who has a General Account entitlement.
2. Member who has resigned, terminated, non-renewal of contract, seasonal worker, laid off or made redundant from work.

 

 

What is maximum amount i can withdraw for unemployment?

1. The maximum withdrawal permitted is $2000 provided member has General Account entitlement.

 

Documents to be submitted with an application

1. The member must apply on the prescribed application form.
2. Evidence of termination letter from employer stating the termination date, non-renewal of contract, laid off or made redundant or letter of acceptance of resignation from employer.
3. Original or certified full extract of birth & marriage certificate printed after year 2000 (if applicable).
3. Member’s latest bank statement

 

Method of Payment

 Payment is made direct to member's bank account.

 

Other important notes

 1. If the member had previously withdrawn for Unemployment Assistance, member can be assisted again provided he has been in continuous employment for at least 2 years prior to any of the unemployment reasons stated above.
2. Member must apply for this assistance within 6 months from the date of unemployment.
3. Acceptance letter of resignation on own accord and cases pending disciplinary tribunal can be assisted after 3 months from the last date of employment.
