Fiji National Provident Fund members living in the Western Division who have received flood assistance forms, are urged to lodge these by Wednesday 25th April.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jaoji Koroi has confirmed that majority of the members living in the areas declared worst affected, have been assisted and the Fund is now in the process of closing off this assistance.

“Our teams have issued more than 15,000 Natural Disaster forms to members during their site inspections which started on the first week of this month,” said Mr Koroi.

“We are urging members who have received their forms to lodge their applications at their nearest FNPF office as soon as possible because Wednesday is the last day we will receive flood assistance forms.”

“To date, we have paid $10.4 million in flood assistance to 12,266 members, which is more than 80% of the applications we have received,”

“Our teams have been working tirelessly to ensure members were able to access their funds for immediate relief.”

The Fund has completed its inspection process in the West and are no longer issuing forms. The focus is now on Kadavu.

Mr. Koroi said the Fund was working closely with the Commissioner Eastern’s office to ensure members who genuinely need assistance will be able to access their funds through the Natural Disaster Assistance scheme.

The Fund’s teams will be based at the Government station in Vunisea and members are requested to have the required documents ready.

“We understand the difficulties members in Kadavu have faced due to Tropical Cyclone Keni and we want to help ease the process for those who qualify for this assistance,” said Mr. Koroi.

“Members are again reminded that this assistance is only for those members living in the affected areas in Kadavu.”

“We reiterate that members do not qualify for this assistance if they do not live in Kadavu.”
