The Fiji National Provident Fund will introduce a Short Message Services (SMS) alert to notify members of the successful processing of payment for their withdrawal applications.

Suva, Fiji – Low income earners and those employed in the informal sector can now make voluntary contributions through a new mobile phone based digital payments platform.

Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) is piloting this initiative through the Vodafone MPAiSA platform to allow voluntary members to make contributions to their retirement savings through digital channels.

The Fiji National Provident Fund Board has approved major changes to its withdrawal policies to enhance the pre-retirement benefits available to its members. These changes cover housing, funeral, unemployment, medical and education assistance.

The Fiji National Provident Fund has urged its members and pensioners to attend the Annual Member Forum in Suva and Rakiraki this week.

The Fiji National Provident Fund announced a net profit of $359.5 million for the 2017 financial year ended 30 June 2017. This is an increase of 8.4% from the 2016 profit of $331.6 million and has been attributed to a strong performance of the Fund’s investment.
